Entergy Mississippi, LLC in Hernando, MS is seeking a Distribution Designer I–Sr. to design distribution facilities, meet with customers, and coordinate design activities.

The role supports residential and commercial service needs and may involve leading pre-design meetings and performing engineering calculations. The position requires multiple design experience levels, strong communication, and knowledge of safety standards; travel up to 25% is possible as projects vary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (any discipline) or 1-year Electric Utility Distribution (or Transmission) Design experience.
• 2+ years Electric Utility Distribution (or Transmission) Design experience for Designer II.
• 4 years Electric Utility Distribution (or Transmission) Design experience for Designer III.
• 6 years Electric Utility Distribution (or Transmission) Design experience for Designer Sr.
• One of the following: Bachelor’s degree or additional design experience or >2 years field experience or senior approval.

Responsibilities

• Meet with customers to determine service needs and design distribution facilities.
• Coordinate pre-design and pre-construction meetings with stakeholders.
• Perform engineering calculations for planning and corrective projects (load studies, fault current, voltage drop).
• Provide leadership and technical support on distribution design standards and practices.
• Assist Right of Way with permits and ROW documents.
• Participate in storm restoration efforts as needed.
