Job summary

KCI Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Distribution Engineering Designer II to design electrical distribution systems, produce BOMs, and perform field data collection.

The role involves office design work with substantial field presence, including storm response on local or travel teams. The candidate will learn and apply technical skills, interact with clients and crews, and adhere to safety standards in both office and field environments.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required. Two years of relevant experience; FE counts as six months.
• FE is desired.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Pre-employment drug screen and background check required.

Responsibilities

• Produce electric distribution design drawings and BOMs for moderate projects.
• Perform field data collection using standard tools and inspections.
• Apply cable, transformer, and pole loading calculations as needed.
• Familiarize with client construction standards and workflows.
• Generate permitting and project documentation as required.
• Maintain safety and assist with storm response when needed.
• Work under supervision for mentorship and training.
