Job summary

KCI Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Distribution Engineer Designer I to provide design drawings for electrical distribution systems and support field data collection. This role involves office work with significant field exposure and progress through a mentorship track toward more complex projects.

The position emphasizes safety, client interaction, and adherence to standard engineering practices, with opportunities to contribute to storm response initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

• Four-year ABET-accredited Engineering degree.
• FE/EIT preferred.
• Valid Drivers License required.

Responsibilities

• Producing electric distribution design drawings and BOM for simple projects.
• Performing field data collection using standard tools and processes.
• Becoming familiar with technical analysis such as cable pulling, voltage drop, transformer loading, and pole loading calculations.
• Gaining familiarity with client construction standards and project workflows.
• Generating permitting and other project supporting documentation as needed.
• Understanding hazards of the distribution system and mitigating hazards during office and field work.
