Job summary

KCI Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Distribution Engineer Designer I to develop electrical distribution designs and BOMs for simple projects. This role combines office work with field data collection and exposure to varied weather conditions.

Under close supervision, you will learn to perform cable voltage drop, transformer and pole loading calculations, interact with clients and construction crews, and contribute to safety, permitting, and storm-response activities.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Engineering degree required.
• FE/EIT preferred.
• Valid Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Producing electric distribution design drawings and BOM for simple projects.
• Performing field data collection using standard tools and processes.
• Becoming familiar with technical analyses: cable voltage drop, transformer loading, and pole loading calculations.
• Gaining familiarity with client construction standards, charging guidelines and workflows.
• Generating permitting and other project documentation as needed.
• Understanding hazards and safety of the distribution system and mitigation strategies.
• Attending safety meetings and training; complying with driving/site Hazard identification.
