Job summary

Middough Inc. in Downers Grove, IL is seeking an Electrical Engineer - Discipline Lead to direct the discipline design team from concept through completion, ensuring scope, budget, schedule and quality align with contract and client requirements.

You will manage resources, develop technical specs, review bids, and interface with clients on discipline issues, while maintaining schedules and budgets and safeguarding operability, reliability and safety.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of electrical systems design experience in a consulting organization.
• Accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Technology.
• PE license is preferred but not required.
• Experience with power distribution, substations, equipment and NEC.
• Experience leading project teams of 3-4 members.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Direct and lead the discipline design team across the project lifecycle.
• Manage resources, schedules, budgets and client interactions.
• Develop technical specifications and bid evaluations.
• Review calculations and vendor drawings.
• Maintain project discipline schedules and staffing forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with design principles, standards, and contract specs.
• Identify scope changes impacting schedule or budgets.
