Job summary

Middough Inc. is seeking a Lead Instrumentation & Controls Engineer in Downers Grove, IL. You will collect data, perform calculations, and prepare technical documentation for approval by senior staff.

You will lead field work, develop specifications, and manage multi-project scopes within budget and schedule. The ideal candidate has 10–15+ years in Instrumentation & Controls or Electrical engineering, proficiency with PFDs/P&IDs and NEC/ISA standards, and experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft

Qualifications

• Engineering degree required in engineering discipline.
• 10-15+ years of instrumentation & controls or electrical design experience.
• Strong knowledge of PFDs, P&IDs, and CAE matrices.
• Understanding NEC/ISA standards.
• EIT certification is a plus.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead design engineer on multiple projects or be part of a design team.
• Collect data, perform calculations, and write technical reports.
• Develop specs, data sheets, bid evaluations, and best-value designs.
• Prepare documents: scopes of work, BOMs, instrument lists, datasheets, schedules.
• Lead field work, check installations, and review vendor drawings.
• Serve as Project Lead for select projects, estimate hours, staff, and review drawings.
• Coordinate with other departments and suppliers, manage scope and schedule.
• Present project information to colleagues and clients.
