Job summary

Gray Electrical Consulting and Engineering, Corp. seeks an electrical engineer/electrical designer to join our California team.

Ideal candidate has a solid electrical engineering background, licensure or equivalent experience, a customer-focused attitude, and eagerness to learn. Responsibilities include designing electrical systems for multi-disciplinary projects, ensuring NEC and California standards compliance, performing short circuit analysis, and contributing to construction documents

Qualifications

BS in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems preferred).
Licensure or comparable work experience may be considered.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Energy Pro, E-Tap or SKM, Microsoft Word and Excel.
Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing).
Knowledge of NEC, California Energy Efficiency Standards and OSHPD.

Responsibilities

Electrical system design knowledge for multi-disciplinary projects: Power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, emergency power, and communication systems.
Understanding of the National Electrical Code, California Energy Efficiency Standards, and OSHPD Standards.
Understanding of Short Circuit analysis.
Understanding of construction documents and project phases (schematic design, DD, CD).
Knowledge of basic engineering calculations (connected load, demand load, voltage drop).
Knowledge of electrical system construction.
