Job summary

Zachry Group is seeking an experienced Electrical Designer II for our Omaha, Nebraska office. The role focuses on developing electrical design deliverables for industrial, power generation, renewable energy, and manufacturing projects.

You will work with engineers and other disciplines to create high-quality design packages that meet project requirements, codes, and client expectations. The position requires 2–7 years of experience and proficiency with AutoCAD and related tools.

Qualifications

Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2–7 years of electrical design experience on industrial, power, energy, or EPC projects.
Proficiency with AutoCAD and other industry tools; ability to read sketches and drawings.
Knowledge of power distribution, motor controls, lighting, grounding, and raceway routing.

Responsibilities

Prepare electrical design deliverables for industrial and energy projects.
Create one-line diagrams, equipment and cable tray layouts, lighting plans, and area classifications.
Produce wiring/interconnection diagrams and installation details; develop cable schedules.
Use AutoCAD, MicroStation, SmartSketch, or 3D modeling tools to produce designs.
Coordinate with disciplines, participate in design reviews, and support field verification.
Mentor junior designers and uphold department standards and best practices.
Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and client requirements.
