Job summary

Zachry Group is seeking an experienced Instrumentation Designer II for our Omaha, NE office. You will design instrumentation and control deliverables for industrial, power, manufacturing, and renewable energy projects, collaborating with engineers and other designers to create detailed design packages for construction and operation.

Ideal candidates have 2–7 years in electrical design and proficiency with AutoCAD and modern 3D design tools.

Qualifications

Associates degree in drafting/engineering technology or related field.
2–7 years of electrical design experience in industrial settings.
Proficiency with AutoCAD and industry design software.
Experience developing electrical deliverables from sketches and specifications.
Knowledge of field instrumentation and control systems.

Responsibilities

Develop instrumentation and controls deliverables for EPC and consulting projects.
Prepare instrument location plans, installation details, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, and instrument indices.
Create control system architecture drawings and junction box layouts.
Coordinate instrumentation with process, piping, electrical, mechanical, and civil teams.
Review vendor docs and incorporate equipment data into deliverables.
Participate in design reviews, field walkdowns, and constructability evaluations.
Support project estimates, schedules, and design execution plans.
Mentor junior designers and drafters as needed.
