Job summary

The Zachry Group seeks an Electrical Engineer I to join the Omaha Design Center, contributing to electrical system designs for industrial plants and developing schematics, while performing quality checks on existing systems and vendor documentation.

You will collaborate on power distribution projects, draft electrical specifications, and assist with drawings such as one-line diagrams and interconnections. Strong communication, detail orientation, and a desire to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited college.
• At least 1 year of electrical engineering experience in Power/Industrial projects.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Good judgment, decision making, and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate in a team on new design, modifications, retrofits, or conceptual electrical power distribution projects.
• Execute project tasks related to electrical power distribution under senior engineers.
• Draft and specify electrical equipment and general construction specifications.
• Assist in creating/revising one-line diagrams, motor control schematics, and interconnection diagrams.
• Compile lists of electrical equipment and review electrical loads; perform voltage drop calculations and conductor sizing per NEC.
• Create and maintain distribution panel schedules and enter cable routing parameters from design drawings.
