Job summary

HKA Enterprises in Conshohocken, PA is seeking an Electrical Engineering Department Manager for Life Sciences. The role oversees the Northeast regional department of about 20 engineers and designers, coordinating with clients and delivering feasibility studies and cost estimates.

The position is direct hire, hybrid work with three days per week in the Conshohocken office. Requirements include a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, 15+ years' experience, NEC knowledge, and a PE license

DIRECT HIRE POSITION Electrical Engineering Department Manager – Life Sciences Electrical Engineering·Medium & Low Voltage·Life Science Facilities·Team of ~20 Pay: $78.00- $108.00 per hour DOE Hybrid – 3 days/week in Conshohocken, PA office. Reports to the Electrical Engineering Department Director, Life Science North America.

What you'll do

• Lead the Northeast Regional Electrical Department – managing ~20 engineers and designers across multiple active projects
• Interface with clients to understand project scope and deliverable requirements
• Complete early feasibility and concept studies as part of a multidisciplinary team to produce project reports and cost estimates
• Develop staffing plans and project estimates for prospective projects
• Lead department meetings to communicate business strategies and coordinate staffing across the region
• Report to and align strategies, proposals, and staffing with the Electrical Engineering Department Director, Life Science North America
• Actively manage regional staffing needs and elevate strategic technical and workforce planning challenges
• Monitor team performance and drive professional development

What you need

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• 15+ years of electrical engineering and design experience including building electrical systems and NFPA 70 (NEC) application
• Experience with medium/low voltage power systems, large UPS/generator systems, lighting, grounding, and heat trace in life science settings
• Proven experience managing a team of engineering and design professionals
• Experience on multi-discipline teams working with client technical representatives on life science facility designs
• Experience preparing electrical design staffing estimates from project scope and deliverables
• Professional Engineer (PE) license – highly preferred
• Nice to have Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
• Experience designing Life Sciences campus facilities
• Proficient working knowledge of Revit
• Extensive experience collaborating with Life Sciences client electrical professionals
