Job Summary

- Team Size: ~20 Engineers & Designers
- Core Role: Lead regional electrical engineering operations, drive project staffing and feasibility studies, and manage multidisciplinary design teams for complex life science facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Team Management & Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate a team of ~20 engineers and designers across all project phases from concept to construction assistance.
- Guide individual career growth and foster professional development across the regional team.
- Run regional department meetings to communicate business strategy, coordinate workload, and balance available staffing.
- Collaborate with the Electrical Engineering Department Director (Life Sciences, North America) to align organizational strategy, proposals, and workforce planning.
Technical & Project Delivery
- Serve as the Northeast regional lead for electrical design on complex life science campus facilities.
- Develop early-stage feasibility studies, concept reports, and project cost estimates as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Build detailed electrical design staffing plans and project proposals based on scope and deliverable requirements.
- Escalate and resolve strategic technical challenges and oversee regional workforce needs.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Interface directly with client technical representatives to define project scopes and deliverable standards.
- Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with Life Science client electrical teams throughout project lifecycles.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: 15+ years of practical electrical engineering and design experience, specifically in building electrical systems.
- Codes & Standards: Comprehensive knowledge and practical application of NFPA 70 (NEC) and local building specialty codes.
- Technical Depth: Hands-on design experience with medium/low voltage power, large UPS/generator systems, lighting, grounding, and heat trace systems in life science facility environments.
- Leadership Experience: Proven track record managing design/engineering professionals, evaluating performance, and leading multi-disciplinary teams.
- Project Management: Demonstrated experience preparing project scope staffing estimates and resource planning.
Preferred Qualifications
- Licensure: Active Professional Engineer (PE) license (highly preferred).
- Advanced Degree: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Software: Proficient working knowledge of Autodesk Revit.
- Domain Expertise: Specialized experience designing life science campus facilities and collaborating directly with client electrical professionals.
- Core Capabilities: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and written/verbal communication skills with an innovative, forward-thinking approach to building design.
