Job summary

Rosendin is seeking a Designer II to develop marked drawings, model development, and layouts for power, lighting, and auxiliary drawings on electrical projects in the United States. You will perform calculations and produce details to define the design, under moderate supervision from senior staff.

The role supports energy code compliance, wire sizing, and coordination with multiple trades. A background with 2+ years as a designer and some college in engineering or related field is required.

Qualifications

• Some college or technical training in engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Designer.
• Can be a combination of educations, training, and relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Assemble a complete symbols list and common project notes from the REI Standard relevant to the project.
• Mark up branch circuit lighting and power plans and fill in panel board schedules with moderate supervision.
• Perform Energy Code calculations, documentation, and local jurisdiction energy requirements with little supervision.
• Apply and perform Rosendin standards for wire sizing, transformer feeders, and protection from published schedules.
• Calculate power loads, size feeders, and determine the estimated demand load summary for a distribution system under the direction of a Sr. Designer or an Engineer.
• Direct and coordinate signal and low voltage subcontractors with other trades, such as architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, vertical transportation, kitchen equipment, and OFCI systems.
• Create details as required to define installation for construction.
• Provide the design lead function for small jobs.
• Ability to review manufacturer submittals for electrical characteristics.
• Layout Electrical Room, including clearances, with minimal oversight.
