Job summary

Rosendin is hiring a mid‑level Designer II to develop marked drawings, model work, and layouts for power, lighting, and related systems. You will perform calculations and produce construction‑ready details under supervision from senior staff.

The role emphasizes collaboration with engineers, architects, and trades to ensure project success. The position requires some college or technical training in engineering and at least two years of designer experience.

Qualifications

• Some college or technical training in engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Designer.
• Can be a combination of educations, training, and relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Assemble a complete symbols list and common project notes from the REI Standard relevant to the project.
• Mark up branch circuit lighting and power plans and fill in panel board schedules with moderate
• Perform Energy Code calculations, documentation, and local jurisdiction energy requirements with little supervision.
• Apply and perform Rosendin standards for wire sizing, transformer feeders, and protection from published schedules.
• Calculate power loads, size feeders, and determine the estimated demand load summary for a distribution system under the direction of a Sr. Designer or an Engineer.
• Direct and coordinate signal and low voltage subcontractors with other trades, such as architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, vertical transportation, kitchen equipment, and OFCI systems.
• Create details as required to define installation for construction.
• Provide the design lead function for small jobs.
• Ability to review manufacturer submittals for electrical characteristics.
• Layout Electrical Room, including clearances, with minimal oversight.
