Job summary

Siemens is seeking an Electrical Design Engineering Intern for Wendell, NC, starting in May or June 2027. You will support electrical design and engineering documentation while gaining exposure to Future Grids technologies within Siemens Smart Infrastructure.

Based at the Wendell, NC office, the role requires full-time availability for 12 weeks and enrollment in a qualifying bachelor's program. Relocation is not provided, and US work authorization is required.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience with AutoCAD and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the 12-week summer internship.
• Eligible candidates must be located within 50 miles of Wendell, NC; no relocation support.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without sponsorship.
• Current and continuing enrollment in a bachelor's degree program is required during the assignment.

Responsibilities

• Support electrical design projects, including drawing updates and design revisions.
• Specify mechanical bills of material for multiple product lines and support engineering automation.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement design improvements.
• Create and update engineering drawings and documentation (wiring diagrams, tube marker files, label drawings).
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams on electrical automation activities.
