Electrical Design Engineer - Industrial Power Distribution
Design Industrial Power Systems That Power Critical Infrastructure

At Chemelex, your designs don't stop at the drawing board-they're built, commissioned, and put into operation at industrial facilities across North America.

We're looking for an Electrical Design Engineer with experience designing low-voltage industrial power distribution systems who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and wants to own projects from concept through commissioning.

This is an opportunity to work alongside project engineers, construction teams, customers, and suppliers to deliver reliable electrical systems for mission-critical industrial facilities. Unlike traditional consulting roles, you'll remain engaged throughout the full project lifecycle, seeing your designs come to life in the field.

If you're passionate about industrial electrical design, power distribution, and engineering solutions that have a direct impact on customers, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Do

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for the design and execution of low-voltage industrial electrical power distribution systems supporting industrial heat trace and process facilities.

You'll own electrical design packages from concept through commissioning while collaborating with engineering, project management, procurement, construction, and customers.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate electrical designs with Project Engineering, Construction, Project Controls, Engineering Management, and Procurement.
  • Review vendor drawings, equipment submittals, and technical documentation.
  • Support procurement, construction, installation, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Attend customer meetings to provide technical expertise and support project execution.
  • Conduct occasional field visits to verify existing conditions, perform field walkdowns, and support commissioning activities.
  • Assist in developing engineering standards, design procedures, and best practices.
  • Support project schedules, technical documentation, and cost estimates throughout project execution.
