Job summary

The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) seeks an Assistant Electrical Engineer to support the Design & Construction programs in the In-House Design (IHD) directorate. Responsibilities include preparing electrical drawings and specs for water and wastewater infrastructure, and coordinating with project teams across DEP facilities.

Applicants should hold a BE/BTech in Electrical Engineering with relevant experience, or a BE plus ME; travel to job sites is anticipated and a valid NY

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited college; one year of full-time electrical engineering experience, or
• Bachelor’s + Master’s in electrical engineering from an accredited college or university; Master’s can substitute for one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering documents for electrical power distribution, communication, instrumentation & controls, lighting, fire safety and security systems.
• Develop drawings and specifications for design and construction of DEP facilities.
• Travel to job sites for site investigations and meetings during design and construction phases.
