Job summary

The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is seeking a Construction Project Manager to lead and supervise construction management services for major projects across five boroughs. You will coordinate engineers and CM consultants, review cost proposals, and ensure compliance with DEP procedures.

Requirements include a four-year high school diploma with five years of experience or a relevant degree and/or professional license.

Qualifications

• Four-year high school diploma or equivalent with five years of full-time experience managing/inspecting construction projects of at least $300k each year; or
• One year of the above experience plus a bachelor’s degree in a related field; or
• One year of the above experience plus a professional license; or
• Combination of education and experience totaling five years as described.

Responsibilities

• Reviews construction management services submittals and supervises CM consultants.
• Coordinates between engineers and CM consultants on project issues.
• Ensures CM cost proposals and payment packages comply with DEP procedures.
• Reviews CM consultant submittals for upper management approval.
• Coordinates with stakeholders to progress projects to completion.
• Ensures CM consultants manage budgets, scope and schedule properly.
• Performs field visits to ensure quality of inspection services.
• Tracks CM consultant performance with metrics.
• Complies with EH&S procedures related to work assignments and environment.
• Reviews weekly/high-priority reports and monthly CM budget reports.
• Occasionally creates presentations on critical projects and updates CM folders.
