Job summary

HII’s Newport News Shipbuilding seeks an electrical/electromechanical engineer who applies electrical, electronic and mechanical principles to prototype systems and components. The role involves analysis, testing, and documentation, with hands-on work across the design, test, and fabrication of electromechanical assemblies.

The ideal candidate holds an ABET-accredited engineering degree, has 2 years of relevant exempt experience, and may hold a Master’s degree.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 2 years of relevant exempt experience.
• Master’s Degree in engineering (0 year of experience).

Responsibilities

• Applies electrical, electronic and mechanical principles to components and systems, including assembly, analysis, and documentation of results.
• Supports and participates in the design, test, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems.
• Works at the boundary of electrical and mechanical systems, including switches, relays, generators, load centers, switchboards, motors.
