Job summary

Beyond New Horizons (BNH) is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to support AEDC at Arnold AFB, TN. You will design electrical systems, coordinate with a multidisciplinary team, and prepare specifications for upgrades and maintenance.

You will work on distribution, switchgear, substations, and building power systems, ensuring compliance with NEC/IEEE standards while pursuing mission assurance and future readiness.

Qualifications

• BS degree in electrical engineering from an accredited college or university
• Must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance and maintain authorized user access to AEDC networks
• U.S. Citizenship is required due to federal government contract requirements and access to secure databases at Arnold Air Force Base

Responsibilities

• Provide electrical design and coordination for renovations and upgrades, including single lines, conduit, and cable tray routing
• Calculates electrical loads for equipment and systems
• Produces electrical drawings and wiring diagrams with CAD support
• Prepare specifications, estimates, and scope of work documents
• Supports in-house design reviews and reviews of subcontractor designs for discrepancies
• Designs electrical interfaces and installation details for senior review
• Creates 2-D/3-D CAD drawings and electrical models for projects
• Coordinates with other engineering disciplines during planning and execution phases
• Communicates with suppliers and field personnel to gather/provide information
• Supports studies like fault current, voltage drop, and reliability analysis
