Job summary

CMTA, a Legence Company, is offering a full-time, onsite co-op in Columbus for engineering design in electrical systems. The role provides hands-on training with mentors, using AutoCAD and Revit to create drawings for real projects.

Ideal candidates are electrical or architectural engineering students (sophomore or junior) with strong teamwork and communication skills, capable of independent work, and willing to travel to job sites as needed. Compensation is competitive with overtime eligibility.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or architectural engineering, preferably a sophomore or junior.
• Strong interest in Building Systems Electrical Engineering.
• AutoCAD and REVIT experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to work full time in the Columbus office throughout the co-op term.
• Ability to travel locally for job site inspections, field work, etc.

Responsibilities

• Learn and implement electrical system basics including power, distribution, lighting and controls for new constructions and renovations.
• Produce detailed layout and equipment details of electrical systems.
• Produce one-line diagrams/schematics.
• Assist the design team in assembling organized sets of drawings.
• May assist in data collection and/or field verification.
• Work with designers and engineers to develop all project aspects.
