Job summary

CMTA, a Legence Company, invites driven co‑op students pursuing Electrical or Architectural Engineering to join our hands‑on design team in Columbus. You will learn electrical system basics, produce layouts and one‑line diagrams, and work alongside engineers to develop project drawings.

Ideal candidates are sophomores or juniors with strong interpersonal skills, proficient in Word/Excel, and capable of full‑time onsite work during the co‑op term, with potential for future full‑time employment

Qualifications

Pursuing a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or architectural engineering, preferably a sophomore or junior.
Strong interest in Building Systems Electrical Engineering.
AutoCAD and REVIT experience preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to work full time in the Columbus office throughout the co-op term.
Ability to travel locally for job site inspections, field work, etc.

Responsibilities

Learn and implement electrical system basics such as power, distribution, lighting, and fire alarm systems for new and renovation projects.
Produce detailed layouts and equipment details of electrical systems for buildings.
Produce one-line diagrams/schematics.
Assist the design team in assembling organized sets of drawings.
May assist in data collection and field verification.
Work with designers and engineers to develop all aspects of a project.
