Job summary

Andersen Corporation in Locust Grove, GA is seeking an Electrical and Controls Technician to join our technical support team supporting plant production. You will work with operations, maintenance, quality and engineering to reduce downtime, identify root causes, and test machine and process improvements.

The role requires a 2-year technical degree with automation/electrical experience, diagnostic skills on Rockwell PLCs, and the ability to read electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical

Qualifications

• 2-year technical degree or equivalent combination of formalized technical education and experience.
• Experience within automation/electrical field.
• Troubleshooting skills for process and machine automation problems.
• Strong aptitude in process improvement and problem-solving.
• Knowledge and ability to interact with Rockwell Automation PLCs and PLC software Opening programs, connecting online, online troubleshooting, Uploading, Downloading, making small programming changes and edits.
• Must be able to read & interpret electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical drawings for equipment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot problems and perform root cause analysis with other technical employees, suppliers, and external experts.
• Develop and implement improvements to technical issues on machines and processes.
• Ability to provide technical support and services to engineers, maintenance, and operations.
• Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of the respective functional area.
• Ensure work is performed in a manner that minimizes downtime.
• Coach, guide, and train less experienced staff on technical topics.
• Position may require after-hours (on-call) control system support for 24/7 production on a rotational basis.
