Harris American is seeking an Electrical Controls Technician to design, implement, and maintain electrical control systems used in industrial automation. The role involves troubleshooting, PLC programming, HMI design, and coordinating with engineering teams to optimize equipment performance.

The candidate should have a strong background in electrical engineering and proficiency with PLCs, HMIs, and automation protocols.

Strong background in electrical engineering, PLC programming, HMI design, and industrial automation.

Responsibilities

Design and develop electrical control systems for industrial machinery and automated processes.
Select and specify electrical components such as PLCs, HMIs, sensors, actuators, and other control devices.
Program PLCs, HMIs, and other control devices using ladder logic, function block diagram, or structured text.
Configure communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus) for integration between control systems and peripherals.
Develop motion control algorithms for servo drives and motor controllers.
Test and validate control systems to ensure functionality and safety compliance.
Collaborate with maintenance teams for preventive maintenance and performance optimization.
Prepare technical documentation including wiring diagrams and operation procedures.
