Job summary

Enbridge is seeking an Electrical Controls Technician II to maintain and optimize station electrical and control systems. You will diagnose complex systems, address unusual conditions, and mentor junior staff while adhering to NEC, PHMSA, and EPA standards.

You will lead and assist with team activities, documenting findings and maintaining regulatory compliance in a collaborative, safety‑driven environment. This role supports 24/7 operations across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 5+ years of relevant experience and a trade or technical certification.
• Strong safety commitment and knowledge of Enbridge safety policies.
• Proven troubleshooting and analytical abilities for complex equipment.
• Effective written and verbal communication; ability to document information.
• Independent worker who also supports complex tasks when needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment at the station (switchgear, motors, generators, pumps, fans).
• Support and maintain control systems and networks (PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation).
• Maintain DC systems including batteries, chargers, rectifiers, and inverters.
• Inspect and maintain safety systems (ESD panels, gas and flame detection, ESD/SHutoff devices).
• Detect irregular operating conditions and document reports.
• Mentor contractors and less experienced employees; support work planning and execution.
• Ensure work aligns with policies, SOPs, O&M procedures, and regulatory standards (NEC, PHMSA, EPA).
