Job summary

The role requires a high school diploma, 2 years of industrial electrical experience, and a valid driver’s license. A technical associate degree is preferred; reside within 30 miles of the reporting location; overtime and travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain electrical systems and equipment (switchgear, motors, generators, pumps, fans).
• Maintain DC systems (batteries, chargers, rectifiers, inverters).
• Maintain station control systems and devices (PLCs, HMIs, networks).
• Maintain safety systems (ESD panels, detectors, switches).
• Assist in planning work and budgeting information.
• Ensure proper operation and repair of gas delivery station equipment.

Our Maintenance Technician II play a vital role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of pipeline facilities. This entry-level role is perfect for those with a solid foundation in electrical and control systems, looking to grow their skills in a dynamic environment.

What You Will Do

• Maintain electrical systems and equipment such as switchgear, motors, generators, pumps, and fans.
• Maintain DC electrical systems and equipment such as batteries, chargers, rectifiers, and inverters.
• Maintain station and unit level electrical control systems and their components such as PLCs, HMIs, and control networks.
• Maintain station and unit level electrical control system end devices such as motor controls, pressure transmitters, pressure switches, temperature sensors, limit switches, solenoids, and actuators.
• Maintain safety systems and their components such as ESD panels, gas detectors, flame detectors, and manual activation switches.
• Assist in planning work and contributing budget-related information as required, consistent with the annual budgeting process.
• Ensure the proper operation, compliance, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of station systems such as air systems, air dryer systems, fuel systems, cooling systems, gas compression, prime mover, and all other equipment necessary to maintain gas delivery through the compressor station.

Who You Are

You have the following education and/or experience:

• High school graduate or equivalent education.
• A minimum of 2 years of electrical/instrumentation experience in an industrial type setting OR the equivalent experience necessary to perform required tasks of Technician Level 1 on a stand‑alone basis.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License.

Preferred Assets

• Associate degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent education and/or experience.

Working Conditions

• Must be able to perform physically demanding activities in all types of weather conditions.
• Residency Requirement: Must reside within 30 Miles of the assigned reporting location.
• Must be able and willing to work overtime, weekends, shift, be on call and standby, and travel overnight as required.
• Possesses the desire to learn and advance, as an Electrical Controls Technician.
• Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, be on call and standby, and travel overnight as required.

Include but are not limited to: Balancing, bending and stooping, climbing, crawling, carrying ( up to 45 amount of pounds), grasping, kneeling, lifting (objects 45 pounds), pulling hand over hand, pushing, reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, walking, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement, grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 45 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.

Mental Requirements

Include but are not limited to: Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
