Qualifications

  • Associate degree or 5+ years in related field required.
  • Experience troubleshooting industrial control systems in manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of robotics programming, CNC controls, PLCs and HMIs.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot electrical systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment (RS Logix 500 & 5000).
  • Maintain and modify control systems, HMIs, drives, motors, sensors and related components.
  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and automation issues to minimize downtime.
  • Support continuous improvement and automation projects.
  • Install, test, and commission new equipment and control systems.
  • Read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on automated equipment.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and production teams.

We are a growing manufacturing company in Cadillac, Michigan seeking a skilled Electrical Controls Technician for designing, installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing industrial electrical and automation systems to ensure safe and efficient operation. This position is ideal for someone with strong PLC troubleshooting experience who enjoys solving problems, improving equipment reliability, and working in stable, a team-oriented manufacturing environment.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment (RS Logix 500 & 5000).
  • Maintain and modify control systems, HMIs, drives, motors, sensors, and related electrical components.
  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and automation issues to minimize downtime.
  • Support continuous improvement and automation projects.
  • Install, test, and commission new equipment and control systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on automated equipment.
  • Work closely with maintenance, engineering, and production teams to improve equipment performance.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, or related field; or 5+ years of equivalent experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting industrial control systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of robotics programming, CNC controls, PLCs and HMIs.
  • Machine building and automation experience
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot electrical systems.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve issues using strong Troubleshooting skills.
  • Solid understanding of Electricity, including industrial electrical systems and controls.
  • Commitment to safety practices and compliance with electrical codes and standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and in a team.
