Job description

If you thrive on solving real automation problems, not just talking about them, we want to meet you.

Job Summary

If you enjoy taking an electrical-controls challenge from concept to commissioning, this is the opportunity to do work that matters every day. We are hiring an Electrical Controls Engineer to help design, improve, program, and support the equipment that keeps our manufacturing operation moving.

This is a hands-on engineering role with a genuine mix of new-project ownership and production support. One day, you may be creating electrical drawings and BOMs for new equipment. The next, you may be modifying PLC logic, working through a difficult controls issue with maintenance, or helping launch an improved process on the plant floor. Your work will have visible impact on uptime, reliability, and continuous improvement.

Duties
  • Create electrical designs, BOMs, and CAD drawings for equipment, upgrades, and special projects.
  • Modify and troubleshoot PLC programs using established templates, with Ladder Logic at the center of the work.
  • Support machine startup, controls integration, sensors, HMI, motion, and VFD-related applications.
  • Partner with maintenance and production teams to diagnose root causes, improve processes, and reduce downtime.
  • Coordinate with engineering teammates, vendors, and internal stakeholders to carry projects from design through implementation.
  • Bring curiosity and practical problem-solving to a fast-moving manufacturing environment.
Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 2+ of hands-on electrical-controls or industrial automation experience. Three to five years is ideal.
  • Practical PLC programming experience, including Ladder Logic and the ability to safely modify existing code. Allen-Bradley experience is strongly preferred.
  • Electrical CAD design experience, ideally in AutoCAD Electrical or ePlan, including schematics, component changes, and drawing revisions.
  • A track record of diagnosing and solving real plant-floor electrical or controls problems.
  • Comfort working onsite in a manufacturing setting and supporting operations when needed.
  • Experience in heavy manufacturing, mills, cement, food and beverage, or chemical processing translates especially well. Familiarity with ControlLogix, CompactLogix, FactoryTalk ME, motion controls, VFDs, Siemens, or Beckhoff is a plus.

We offer a competitive base salary of $90,000-$110,000, relocation support for the right candidate, a flexible weekday start time, and the chance to build a career with broad technical ownership.
