Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Electronics Technician to join a skilled industrial maintenance team. This is a hands‑on role for an experienced electrical/electronics professional who can troubleshoot complex automation systems, work with PLCs and robotics, and keep critical production equipment running safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and install electrical and electronic equipment throughout the facility.
- Diagnose complex problems involving PLCs, HMIs, robotics, drives, computers, and automated production systems.
- Read, troubleshoot, and edit PLC logic to identify and resolve equipment issues.
- Maintain and troubleshoot factory automation systems and their interfaces with other control systems.
- Work closely with machine adjusters and production personnel to diagnose and resolve equipment problems.
- Support preventive maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and production output.
- Troubleshoot motor control centers, motor start circuits, control loops, generators, switchgear, and related electrical equipment.
- Use schematics, manuals, computers, and testing equipment to identify and correct electrical/electronic problems.
- Assist with facility, grounds, process, and equipment electrical maintenance.
- Provide technical guidance and work direction to maintenance personnel when needed.
- Document maintenance activities using a computerized maintenance system.
- Participate in training line mechanics, apprentices, and fellow employees.
- Promote teamwork during complex troubleshooting events.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
What We're Looking For
- Qualified Journeyman Electrician with a Journeyman Card.
- 5+ years of experience performing complex industrial electrical, electronics, computer, and PLC maintenance.
- Advanced experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, including PLC-5, SLC 500, and ControlLogix/PLC 5000.
- Ability to connect, configure, troubleshoot, follow, and edit ladder logic in Allen-Bradley PLC systems.
- Experience with Allen-Bradley PanelView and HMI systems.
- Experience with Fanuc robot programming and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Link/OmniLink press controls and programming.
- Strong ability to read and troubleshoot electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
- Experience working with 240V and 480V three-phase electrical systems.
- Strong knowledge of motor controls, MCCs, motor starters, control loops, generators, switchgear, and protective relaying.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Comfortable using electrical/electronic test equipment including multimeters, ammeters, megohm meters, oscilloscopes, and digital probes.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, mathematical, and measurement skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with maintenance and production teams.
