Job summary

Bluewater Hayes Inc. is seeking an experienced Automation / Controls Technician to support advanced automated manufacturing equipment and production systems.

Qualifications

  • Technical degree with 3+ years of automation experience or 10+ years hands-on automation experience.
  • Journeyman certification or equivalent preferred.
  • Strong experience with PLC programming, electrical controls, hydraulics and pneumatics.

Responsibilities

  • Program, troubleshoot, and modify PLCs (Rockwell / Allen-Bradley), HMIs, servo systems, vision systems, and robotics.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to minimize downtime.
  • Support installation, integration, and startup of new automation equipment and robotics.
  • Collaborate with Engineering on equipment launches, improvements, and continuous improvement.
  • Build and maintain electrical control panels, wiring, and industrial control systems.
  • Identify root causes and implement long-term corrective solutions.
  • Document repairs and improvements while upholding safety and quality standards.

What You'll Do
  • Program, troubleshoot, and modify PLCs (Rockwell / Allen-Bradley), HMIs, servo systems, vision systems, and robotics
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to minimize equipment downtime
  • Support the installation, integration, and startup of new automation equipment and robotic systems
  • Partner with Engineering to support new equipment launches, machine improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Build and maintain electrical control panels, wiring, and industrial control systems
  • Identify root causes of equipment issues and implement long term corrective solutions
  • Document repairs, modifications, and improvement activities while maintaining safety and quality standards
What We\'re Looking For
  • Technical degree with 3+ years of automation and controls experience, or 10+ years of hands-on automation experience
  • Skilled Trades Journeyman certification or equivalent experience preferred
  • Strong experience with PLC programming, electrical controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, and industrial automation
  • Experience with robotics, servo systems, and automated manufacturing equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics
  • Experience with assembly, injection molding, die casting, or similar manufacturing environments preferred
  • A proactive, team-oriented problem solver with a passion for troubleshooting and continuous improvement
