Job summary

Collins in Chester, CA is seeking a skilled engineer to lead electrical systems and control design across our wood products manufacturing facilities. The role covers configuration, integration, and implementation, with involvement in capital projects, maintenance, and shutdown activities to safeguard safety and production.

You will design and troubleshoot PLC-based systems, support process control interfaces, and mentor maintenance teams to reduce downtime.

Qualifications

• Requires Oregon electrical supervisors license or Oregon Electrical P.E.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing plant or similar position.
• Experience with 480V systems; 13.8kV experience preferred.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills; excellent communication.
• Experience with continuous manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, quality, maintenance, and manufacturing policies.
• Design, develop, install, troubleshoot, and oversee electrical or mechanical control systems and machinery.
• Analyze plant processes and designs to implement changes that improve efficiency and productivity.
• Provide PLC-based hardware/software support and problem-solving capabilities.
• Assist with planning and budgeting for projects, maintenance, replacement, and shutdown activities.
• Support process engineering and control system interfaces to other computer systems.
