Job summary

Collins Pine Company in Chester, CA is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer to design, configure, and integrate electrical control systems for wood products manufacturing facilities. The role includes supporting capital projects, facility maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

You will work with PLCs/HMI, oversee electrical drawings, and collaborate with contractors to ensure safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

Oregon electrical license or Electrical P.E. required.
A minimum of 3 years' experience in a manufacturing plant or similar position.
Experience with 480V systems; up to 13.8kV preferred.
Experience with Allen-Bradley & Direct Logic PLCs, Wonderware HMI, FactoryTalk or equivalent.
Experience with Ethernet network design, including fiber and 10/100/1000BaseTX.

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, quality, maintenance, and manufacturing policies.
Design, install, troubleshoot, and oversee electrical or mechanical control systems and equipment.
Improve plant processes to increase efficiency and productivity.
Provide PLC/HMI software support and integrate control systems with other computer systems.
Plan and budget for projects, maintenance, replacements, and shutdowns.
Provide process engineering support and maintain documentation for electrical and process controls.
Lead and mentor maintenance teams; promote downtime prevention and asset optimization.
Collaborate with internal and external contractors; maintain drawings and SOPs.
Travel to Collins facilities as required.
