Johnson Matthey invites applications for an Electrical Controls Graduate Engineer within the Graduate Engineering Program. You will work on engineered solutions for production, commission new equipment, and drive continuous improvement while developing leadership skills.

The program includes mentorship toward Chartered Engineer status and offers relocation across JM sites. The role emphasizes electrical control systems, safety, sustainability and collaboration across teams, with hybrid working

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Process Controls Engineering or similar field, minimum 3.2 GPA
• Must be geographically flexible and willing to relocate to JM sites for three placements during the program
• Demonstrated leadership potential and ability to lead others in challenging situations
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build collaborative relationships to achieve results

Job description

We currently looking for an Electrical Controls Graduate Engineer at Johnson Matthey in our Graduate Engineering Program (GEP) as part of the Group Engineering function. The GEP supports the key capabilities of our business and the rapid professional progression of future engineers. Graduates on the GEP will undergo various technical and leadership development while completing high-priority business projects. They will be assigned a mentor to support progress towards Chartered Engineer status.

The role:

As an Electrical Controls Graduate Engineer, you will help drive our goals by:

• Develop and implement engineered solutions for production improving safety, sustainability performance, and reliability
• Commission new plant equipment and develop/deliver training for operators
• Mechanical and maintenance optimization
• Electrical AC Power Systems, Motors and Drives, Control Instrumentation and Grounding systems.
• Implement standardized JM processes to drive continuous improvement toward goals
• Energy, water, waste and emission monitoring to drive sustainability opportunities

Key skills that will help you succeed in this role:

• Bachelor’s degree in Process Controls Engineering or similar field (Minimum 3.2 GPA)
• Must be geographically flexible and have a desire to relocate to any JM site for three placements for the duration of the development program and first role following the end of the program. Relocation assistance is provided to those who geographically qualify as determined by placements
• Demonstrated leadership skills and a true career aspiration to lead others is essential; must be adaptable, strive for excellence, and demonstrate a positive attitude in the face of adversity
• Strong interpersonal skills a must, coupled with a proven ability to build collaborative relationships to achieve results
