Zen Sherpa LLC in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an Electrical & Control Systems Engineering Manager to lead a team responsible for plant electrical systems, automation, instrumentation, and controls. This role focuses on reliability, modernization, and safe operation across multiple production areas.

You will direct PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS architectures, manage capital projects from concept to commissioning, and drive improvements through proactive troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years in electrical, automation, or control systems engineering.
• 3+ years of engineering leadership experience; strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems.
• Experience with PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS, and industrial networks.
• Proven success leading engineering teams and projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop electrical, controls, and automation engineering staff.
• Oversee electrical distribution, motor control, instrumentation, and automation systems.
• Direct PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS, and industrial network architecture.
• Approve engineering designs, drawings, and technical documentation.
• Manage capital projects from concept through commissioning.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical and control system issues.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, OSHA, ISA, IEEE standards.
• Coordinate contractors, integrators, and equipment suppliers.
• Support reliability improvements, root-cause analysis, and change management.
