Job summary

Zen Sherpa LLC in Spokane, WA, seeks an Electrical & Control Systems Engineering Manager to lead a team responsible for plant electrical systems, automation, instrumentation and controls. This role drives reliability, modernization and safe operation across multiple production areas.

This position oversees capital projects from concept through commissioning, coordinates with contractors and suppliers, and champions best practices in safety and standards throughout the plant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years in electrical, automation, or control systems engineering.
• 3+ years of engineering leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, MCCs, VFDs, and instrumentation.
• Experience with PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS, and industrial networks.
• Proven success leading engineering teams and projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop electrical, controls, and automation engineering staff.
• Oversee electrical distribution, motor control, instrumentation, and automation systems.
• Direct PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS, and industrial network architecture.
• Approve engineering designs, drawings, and technical documentation.
• Manage capital projects from concept through commissioning.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical and control system issues.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, OSHA, ISA, IEEE standards.
• Coordinate contractors, integrators, and equipment suppliers.
• Support reliability improvements, root-cause analysis, and change management.
