Job summary

nVent, a global provider of electrical connection and protection solutions, invites an Electrical Engineering Intern to contribute to project-specific engineering work in Anoka, Minnesota. You’ll gain leadership exposure, participate in structured development opportunities, and network with early career professionals while building hands-on skills.

You will be mentored by managers and peers, with paid opportunities, ERG involvement, and a chance for a full-time offer based on performance.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field.
• Graduating between Dec 2027 and May 2028 (sophomores/juniors preferred).
• Authorized to work in the United States without restrictions now or in the future.

• Apply specific technological training to specific projects.
• Performs calculations and engineering analysis for component selection.
• Defines all aspects of product characteristics to meet specifications.
• Establishes and coordinates development schedule.
• Assists materials department in selecting suitable suppliers.

What You Will Experience in this Position

Your experience as an Engineering Intern goes beyond the day-to-day of your role. In addition to the support of your manager, you can expect to grow and develop through exposure to leadership, engaging in development opportunities, and networking with other early career professionals.

Program Details:

Interns and Co-ops are paid $25 hourly for time worked Relocation and housing support is available for eligible candidatesInterns and Co-ops receive paid time off, paid sick time, paid volunteer time, and paid holidaysInterns and Co-ops who demonstrate outstanding performance may be offered a subsequent internship/co-op or full-time offer of employment with nVent

YOU HAVE:

Required Qualifications:

Pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field Graduating between Dec 2027 and May 2028 (current Sophomores and Juniors preferred) Authorized to work in the United States without restrictions now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications:

• Basic knowledge in electronics & electrical engineering.
• Basic knowledge in analog power management a plus.
• Basic knowledge in Digital Signal Processors a plus.
• Basic knowledge in processor controlled data acquisition and device control a plus.
• Basic knowledge in PADs or other schematic / PCB layout systems a plus.
• Basic knowledge in thermodynamics and heat transfer a plus.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts and apply these concepts to practical situations.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret schematics, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations.
• Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the technical strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
