Job summary

JST Manufacturing in Meridian, Idaho is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer to design electrical power distribution, schematics, and PLC configurations for custom precision cleaning and wet processing equipment.

You will work with mechanical and process teams to ensure safe, reliable solutions while developing BOMs, documentation, and vendor relationships. A strong foundation in electrical engineering and hands-on problem solving is essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Ability to read, interpret, and develop electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
Understanding of electrical power distribution, control circuits, relay logic, and low-voltage systems.
Familiarity with PLC hardware and I/O.
Knowledge of electrical components, sensors, and industrial control systems.
Understanding of electrical safety principles and applicable electrical codes.
Ability to read control circuit wiring and relay logic.
Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and in teams.
Willingness to learn new technologies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Design electrical power distribution and control systems for custom equipment.
Develop schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and PLC I/O lists.
Review specifications and develop electrical concepts meeting requirements and safety standards.
Select components, sensors, and control devices based on system needs.
Support integration of electrical with mechanical and process equipment.
Collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and project teams to resolve design challenges.
Develop and maintain BOMs and technical documentation.
Use ERP to create project BOMs and liaise with suppliers.
Contribute to continuous improvement of equipment performance and processes.
