Job summary

Liberty Personnel Services, Inc. seeks an Electrical Controls Engineer to design, program, and commission turnkey automation systems across automotive, aerospace, steel, and food industries. You will work hands-on with PLCs and HMIs in challenging industrial environments.

The role involves traveling to customer sites in Michigan and beyond, supporting installation, startup, and ongoing technical support while interpreting schematics and diagnosing electronics with advanced test equipment.

Qualifications

Hands-on experience programming and troubleshooting PLCs, preferably Allen-Bradley and Siemens.
Experience developing and editing HMI applications.
Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, controls, and electromechanical equipment.
Experience with servo systems, coordinated motion, and industrial automation integration.
Ability to interpret electrical schematics and perform electronic troubleshooting.
Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and related computer applications.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Willingness to travel and maintain a valid passport.
Ability to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

Program, modify, and troubleshoot PLC systems, including Allen-Bradley and Siemens platforms.
Develop and edit HMI applications using Allen-Bradley and Siemens technologies.
Troubleshoot electrical and pneumatic actuators, sensors, and other electromechanical equipment.
Design, program, and troubleshoot servo positioning systems and coordinated motion applications.
Support the design, integration, installation, and commissioning of industrial automation systems.
Read and interpret electrical schematics and control system documentation.
Diagnose electronic issues using digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment.
Provide on-site commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, and customer support.
Travel to customer facilities and company locations in Michigan, with domestic and international travel as required.
Maintain project documentation and communicate effectively with customers and internal teams.
