Job summary

UCC Environmental in Libertyville, IL seeks an Electrical Controls Engineer to design and program electrical control systems and contribute to project success. You will work on control panel layouts, schematic design, PLC and HMI programming, BOMs, and releases.

Required a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or related field with 3–7 years of experience, AutoCAD proficiency, and PLC/HMI skills. Travel 10–15% to meet project objectives and client deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or EE technology.
• 3–7 years in electrical control systems design and programming.
• AutoCAD proficiency; AutoCAD Electrical is a plus.
• Ladder logic programming capability.
• Studio 5000 or FactoryTalk proficiency preferred; Step 7 or Control Expert preferred.
• AVEVA or Ignition experience a plus.
• Proficiency in software testing and controls commissioning.
• Proficiency with industrial networking protocols.
• Proficiency with motor control and VFD applications.
• Familiarity with NEC (NFPA 70) and UL 508A.
• Strong time management and organization.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs, performs, coordinates and reviews electrical control systems design.
• Contributes to project schedules for engineering activities.
• Provides and coordinates engineering estimates to support proposals.
• Reviews contract scope for impact on electrical and control systems.
• Coordinates subcontractors and vendors through project management.
• Travels 10–15% to meet objectives.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
