Job summary
Exemplar Global is seeking an Electrical Engineer in Grand Rapids, MI to design, develop, and implement electrical control systems for automotive test equipment and custom robotic machinery.
You will engineer PLC/HMI programs, develop electrical schematics and BOMs, and support startup and commissioning at customer sites, with occasional travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical design and industrial automation.
- Proficient in PLC and HMI programming; AB and Siemens platforms preferred.
- Ability to develop electrical schematics and BOMs using AutoCAD, EPLAN.
- Experience supporting machine startup, commissioning, and installation.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical control systems, schematics, and documentation for new equipment and upgrades.
- Create, maintain, and troubleshoot PLC and HMI programs for machine functionality.
- Develop BOMs, electrical print packages, and supporting documentation.
- Collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams to define system requirements.
- Support startup, commissioning, installation, and troubleshooting at customer sites.
