Qualifications

• Recent experience with PLC and HMI programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or Omron is highly desirable.
• Experience designing electrical control panels and PLC networks, including sizing, enclosures, NEC requirements.
• Experience with EPLAN and/or AutoCAD for electrical controls design and schematics.
• Hands-on commissioning and startup experience including I/O checks, alarms/faults, software debugging, VFDs, PID controllers.
• Experience with process systems such as ovens, air supply houses, pretreatment, and E-Coat systems is preferred.
• Ability to coordinate with engineers, programmers, designers, and customers throughout projects.
• Willing to travel ~30% nationwide for onsite commissioning and support.
• BS in Electrical Engineering preferred, or equivalent controls experience.

Electrical Controls Engineer – Industrial Paint Finishing / Process Systems

A global leader in the engineering and construction of industrial systems is currently seeking an experienced Electrical Controls Engineer for a Direct Hire opportunity in the Auburn Hills, MI area. The Electrical Controls Engineer will be responsible for control panel design, PLC/HMI programming, controls networks, system commissioning, troubleshooting, and working with engineering teams throughout all phases of projects. This position will also provide opportunities to lead engineers, programmers, and designers on larger projects.

Qualified Electrical Controls Engineers will have most, if not all, of the following skills and experience:

• Recent/relevant experience with PLC and HMI programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting; experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or Omron is highly desirable.
• Experience designing electrical control panels and PLC networks, including component sizing/selection, enclosures, heat-load calculations, and NEC requirements.
• Experience with EPLAN and/or AutoCAD for electrical controls design and schematics.
• Hands-on commissioning and startup experience including I/O checks, alarms/faults, software debugging, VFDs, PID controllers, and equipment setup.
• Experience programming or engineering process systems such as ovens, air supply houses, pretreatment systems, and E-Coat systems is highly preferred. Other continuous-process system experience will also be considered.
• Ability to coordinate with engineers, programmers, designers, and customers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Must be able to travel approximately 30% nationwide for onsite commissioning and support.
• A BS in Electrical Engineering is preferred, but equivalent controls engineering and relevant industry experience will be strongly considered.
• Must be able to work in the United States (no H-1 sponsorship or student visas considered).
• Must be able to complete standard pre-hire checks including background, drug screen, references, etc.
