Job summary

AISIN World Corp. of America in Durham, NC is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer to lead ground-up electrical and controls design for new equipment and overhauls, with emphasis on automation integration and documentation.

The role requires 3+ years in electrical distribution up to 480 VAC 3PH, strong problem solving, PLC/HMI programming, NFPA 70/79/UL508A knowledge, and the ability to lead cross-functional projects onsite with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3 years minimum of relevant work experience.
• Experience with electrical distribution and control systems up to 480 VAC, 3PH.
• Ability to read electrical prints and wire control panels.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and controls issues in circuits with transformers, disconnects, and PLCs.
• Perform electrical and control upgrades to equipment.
• Lead final installation, setup and testing of equipment in the production line.
• Prepare wiring drawings, BOMs, and machine manuals for modifications.
• Collaborate with vendors on equipment improvements and project documentation.
