Job summary

SJE Inc. is seeking a Control System Specialist II for their Lakeland, FL office to design, test, implement, and support automation projects.

You will work on relay/PLC-based control panels, perform sizing analyses, in-shop testing, field startups, and provide cross-functional project support across departments. The role requires extensive travel to customer sites and ongoing education to stay current with industry standards.

Qualifications

Five years of educational and/or work experience in the control/instrumentation field.
Ability to design electrical equipment and write/ test software and documentation.
Basic computer skills: MS Office, e-mail, internet, AutoCAD.
Experience with electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

Design electrical control panels and systems to meet project specs and standards.
Coordinate with panel production personnel for fabrication.
Develop factory and field testing procedures for panels and systems.
Develop PLC and HMI applications per project specifications across platforms.
Program complex sequences including lead/lag and cascade PID control.
Manage multiple projects following company procedures and budgets.
Coordinate projects to meet quality, schedule, and budget goals.
Ensure manufacturing, construction, installation and testing meet specs and customer requirements.
Provide technical support via phone, remote access, and on-site service.
Assist with AutoCAD for electrical equipment design and layout drawings.
Document final changes to products through production/testing sites.
