Job summary
Kaiser Aluminum in Kalamazoo, MI seeks an Electrical Manufacturing Engineer to optimize highly automated equipment and processes, leveraging visual systems, automation, and advanced process control. You will lead reliability and improvement projects for the plant, providing technical support to Operations and Maintenance.
This onsite role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering (preferred) and 5+ years in manufacturing, with strong PLC (Control Logix 5000), HMI, motors/drives, and Fanuc
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing operation.
- Excellent equipment troubleshooting abilities.
- Strong analytical problem-solving and organization skills.
- Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC and HMI (ME/SE).
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to operations and maintenance as necessary.
- Lead reliability and improvement projects in the plant.
- Work independently on smaller projects from conception to completion.
- Support cross-functional teams to meet business goals.
- Thoroughly document all technical work completed.
- Mentor employees to increase equipment knowledge.
- Lead continuous improvement and six sigma project teams.
- Support plant safety initiatives and industrial electrical systems.
