Job summary

MissionHires is seeking a lead controls engineer in Alabama to drive electrical, controls, and reliability improvements across our manufacturing operation. You will partner with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, and Engineering teams to boost equipment safety, uptime, and performance.

Responsibilities include building strong relationships with engineers and trades, planning outages, resolving recurring reliability issues, supporting work orders, and developing maintenance procedures and

Qualifications

Thorough knowledge of PLCs and VFDs.
Ability to troubleshoot complex control systems.
Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic components and systems.
Knowledge of instrumentation and process controls.
Ability to work as an electrician when needed, with strong mechanical aptitude.
Demonstrated leadership, coaching, training, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently and collaboratively, and commitment to continuous technical development.

Responsibilities

Build effective working relationships with engineers, maintenance planners, process leads, and tradespeople.
Participate in area safety initiatives and outage planning.
Partner with Operations, Reliability, Maintenance, and Engineering to resolve recurring equipment reliability issues.
Support daily engineering and maintenance work-order activities with maintenance planners, supervisors, and engineering teams.
Provide technical assistance to E/I technicians for maintenance repairs and runnability issues.
Help develop preventive maintenance procedures, craft training, and training materials.
Develop and share expertise in machine, product, and process technology to improve equipment efficiency and reliability.
Participate in the site weekend duty rotation.
Promote collaborative decision-making, open communication, constructive feedback, and a high-performing team environment.
Balance safety, quality, productivity, cost, and employee relations while managing multiple priorities.
