Job summary

Kaiser Aluminum in Kalamazoo, MI is seeking a Facilities Engineer to identify and manage asset reliability risks that could impact plant operations. This onsite role requires cross-functional collaboration with maintenance, engineering, and production to improve equipment reliability and safety.

You will lead PM system improvements, apply root-cause analysis, manage spare parts, and drive PdM initiatives while coordinating with leadership on upgrades and capital projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field required.
• 3+ years heavy industrial experience preferred.
• Strong PC skills: Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, MS Project and Access.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and communicate effectively.
• Experience with PdM systems and technologies.
• Knowledge in hydraulic, combustion, and electrical domains is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Guide efforts to improve reliability and maintainability of equipment, utilities, and safety systems.
• Analyze, update, and improve the Maximo PM system.
• Identify and develop solutions to reduce losses from repeats failures affecting capacity, quality, or cost.
• Apply Root-Cause and RCFA analyses.
• Provide SME level technical support to production, maintenance, and technical personnel.
• Own PdM systems and drive upgrades, including project management of equipment replacements.
