Job summary

Mortenson Construction is seeking a Superintendent I to coordinate, plan, and supervise assistant superintendents, contractors, and craft activities within a defined discipline, while strengthening client relationships through exceptional service. The role centers on manufacturing electrical products used on Mortenson projects.

The position requires leadership across multi-project scopes, strong scheduling and safety oversight, and the ability to travel as needed to support field operations

Qualifications

• Associate/Bachelor degree in Construction, Civil, Architecture, or Construction Management.
• 5+ years in construction management or related area.
• Current driver’s license.
• Ability to manage multiple, complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement materials, equipment, and inspections to support the project schedule.
• Review drawings for completeness and constructability.
• Coordinate plans with design engineers and resolve discrepancies.
• Develop and manage project schedules, including look-ahead planning.
• Lead site logistics planning and use Mortenson tools and equipment.
• Collaborate with partner superintendents and craft teams.
• Conduct on-site orientations, pre-construction planning, and site meetings.
• Supervise craft teams; interview, hire, transfer, dismiss as needed; mentor staff.
