Job summary

Texas State Technical College seeks an Instructor of Electrical Construction at the Harlingen campus to deliver engaging, applied learning. Responsibilities include planning curricula, mentoring students, and ensuring safety and quality in classroom and lab settings.

The role requires verifiable electrical construction experience and a valid journeyman or master electrician license. Occasional evenings, weekends, or summer assignments may be required to support program needs.

Qualifications

• Verifiable work experience in the electrical construction industry.
• Journeyman or master electrician's license through TDLR.
• OSHA 10 training or above or equivalent safety certification.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality instructional delivery in electrical construction topics.
• Develop course syllabi and instructional plans; organize daily classes.
• Maintain accurate student records and ensure safety of instructional environments.
• Engage students with varied teaching methods and real-world applications.
• Advise students and coordinate with Student Success to improve retention.
• Participate in recruitment events and program planning; support team goals.
