Job summary

L & S Electric, Inc. is seeking a CAD designer to support electrical engineering activities in our Wisconsin office. You will create and maintain schematics, wiring diagrams and layout drawings used for the manufacture and installation of equipment.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree and 2–4 years of related experience, with proficiency in EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, and Microsoft Office. Travel and overtime may be required to meet project timelines.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required.
• 2–4 years of related experience.
• Computer skills including EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Create detail and assembly drawings of design components and circuitry using computer‑aided design (CAD) software and standard drafting techniques.
• Select and design parts to meet functional, cost and delivery requirements, and create lists of parts used for procurement, manufacturing and installation of equipment.
• Consult with engineers to discuss and interpret design concepts and determine requirements of detailed working drawings.
• Understand manufacturing and installation processes and what is required on detail and assembly drawings to accomplish them.
• Read and understand schematics and drawings of mechanical systems.
• Maintain parts database and drawing libraries.
• Review work performed by peers for correctness.
• Perform equipment sizing and design calculations.
