Job summary

Electrical Designer Intern at AEP in Roanoke, VA, will work onsite five days a week to create and update 3D Inventory parts, assemblies, and 2D AutoCAD Electrical drawings. This position builds a foundation for a future career in electrical design.

Internship involves CAD tasks, documentation support, and using Autodesk products along with MS Office. Open to students pursuing CAD/engineering technology with a 3.0+ GPA.

Qualifications

• Must have completed at least one year toward an AAS in drafting/CAD or related engineering tech.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Graduation date of December 2027 or later.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Responsibilities

• Create, revise, and maintain engineering drawings and sketches.
• Support documentation for facilities and equipment projects.
• Obtain information from verbal/written sources and site visits.
• Perform mathematical calculations for assigned work.
• Proficient in CAD software (Autodesk AutoCAD Electrical, Civil3D, Inventor, Vault).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
